Sibling Banter

At the time, my boys Ian, age eight, and Andrew, age six, and I were driving home from school. It was the last day of school and we were starting our winter break. Andrew was going on and on about how he loved school. At the time, Ian really didn’t care about school. When Andrew asked, “Mommy, how many days are we off for winter break?” Ian chimed in with, “Twelve! We get twelve days off … Andrew, why do you think they call it The Twelve Days of Christmas? Every year we get eight days off for winter break ... but whose counting?!”
