Weekend Reflection ...

I am bountifully supplied ...

Today I recognize the abundance of Life. I give thanks to all that is good and flowing to me in an ever-increasing supply.

Weekend Reflection ... It's Autumn

Isaiah 40: 26-31 (NIV)

26Lift your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one,
and calls them each by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.

27Why do you say, O Jacob,
and complain, O Israel,
“My way is hidden from the LORD;
my cause is disregarded by my God”?

28Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.

29He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

30Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

31but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Weekend Reflection ...

"Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times but, Until seventy times seven." Matthew 18:21-22

Ouch ... that means 490 times ... yet I am sure it means even more than that. Not an easy task - I think especially hard within our own families ... a father-in-law that speaks ill against you, the never can please mother-in-law, the take-you-for-granted sister or a sibling that always picks a fight ... you get the picture. Forgiveness is HARD but oh so necessary for spiritual growth.

I'M A CHRISTIAN By Maya Angelou

"When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin."

I'm confessing that I stumble
and need CHRIST to be my guide.

Psalm 117 is the shortest chapter in the Bible.
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible.
Psalm 118 is in the precise center of the Bible ... there are 594 chapters before Psalm 118 and there are 594 chapters after Psalm 118.
Add 594 + 594 and you have the number 1188.
Literally, the CENTER verse in the Bible is Psalm 118:8
What does Psalm 118:8 say? ... "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man."
