My son was beginning Kindergarten and it was such an exciting day to tour the school for orientation. So off to school we went, meeting the principal, teachers and staff – then seeing the classrooms, playground and all the facilities. When we got home that afternoon, a few friends came over enthusiastically asking my son, “So Hayden, how was your new school?! Did you like it?!” He loudly and dejectedly replied, “They didn’t take me!” I knew then he didn’t understand the meaning of orientation.
