My $400.00 Cup of Coffee ... & My Son's Lesson In The Importance of Uninterrupted Driving

I have become yet another junkie addicted to the aroma, taste and fine roast of the 'yummiest drug dealer' in America ... Starbucks. As I pulled into one of their stores in Tampa I navigated the drive-thru (in a very narrow parking lot) and realigned my car to be near the speaker which was now about a foot in front of me. Putting the car in reverse I slowly inched backwards but upon hearing the ever-so-clear sound of shattering glass - undeniably an automobile - I stopped and my heart just sank. It turns out that I took out the headlight of the guy's Volvo behind me in my excitement for my dolled up cup of Joe. Lucky for me it was only the headlight (zero damage to the body), but also a valuable lesson to my five-year-old son, who is constantly asking me to turn around and look at something when I am trying to drive - and I am always telling him that I am driving and it is dangerous! Well, real life lessons are the best ones for teaching so the only benefit here was that he now knows why mommy cannot turn around to look at his sticker of Mater when I'm zipping down the road. All said, this trip to Starbucks (and driving lesson for my son) cost me $401.87 ... and sadly I was too shaken to go back thru and order my caramel macciato.
